Who am I?

I am an experienced small animal General Practitioner (18 years, BVMS PGCertSAM MRCVS) with additional expertise in medicine (Advanced Practitioner in SAM) and ulrasonography. I can cope with most things in companion animal GP work (consulting, investigations, dentistry and surgery) and I can bring additional value to my services. I am flexible with bookings I can offer; either as blocks for practices near and far, or occasional or regular days for local practices. Reduce your costs and book directly with me!

What I offer – Experience and Skills

  • Experienced General Practitioner (17 years plus graduated), in all areas of small animal GP practice (excepting orthopaedics, endoscopy and laproscopy).
  • Additional expertise in medicine (I am a certificate holder and an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine) and extensive experience in ultrasonography.
  • Bring additional skills to your team such as mentoring and support.
  • Excellent communicator and people skills with clients and teams, native English speaker. I love working with difficult clients!
  • Good comprehensive clinical notes and appropriate charging for work.
  • Flexible to work reasonable OOH/weekends – we can discuss distance to travel.
  • Happy with sole charge situations and willing to do some sole charge work.
  • Available for additional consultancy by prior arrangement – see my CV or LinkedIn profile for my skill set and areas I can help in.

References

Here are some of the references I have received while locuming:

” We had Sarah here for 1 week and found her to be reliable, calm, professional and highly competent. I would happily employ her again in the future. ” J.Hosking, Companion Care Hemel Hempstead

Requirements

  • I can only work in companion/small animal practices – no horse or farm work, sorry!
  • I am based in Tring, Hertfordshire and for attendance from home I can visit practices within 15 miles/45 minutes travel (see picture below). Practices outside this area, please contact me to discuss whether your requirements can be accommodated, for example through additional fees for travel or accommodation.
  • I am willing to travel away from home for block bookings; accommodation requirements can be discussed.
  • Flexible to work reasonable overnight on-call and weekends – we can discuss distance to travel and rates. I’m not available to do overnight working shifts.
  • Happy with sole charge situations and willing to do some sole charge work.
  • Registered limited company and VAT registered.
  • I have my own VDS cover.
  • I have my own uniform, information resources and some equipment (including stethoscope, ophthalmoscope, X-ray dose meter).
An idea of the area I cover from home. Please contact me to discuss if you are outside this area – it may still be possible for me to cover locum shifts for you, especially if you can provide accommodation.

  • Additional hours/part hours/weekends at £60/hour + VAT.
  • Travel within 15 miles from Tring (calculated by Google maps), included. Additional mileage chargeable at 45p/mile + VAT.
